Level 1
RESET & STABILISE
1. Barrier-Impaired / Sensitised Skin
Clinical description:
The skin’s protective barrier is compromised, leading to inflammation, water loss, reactivity, and impaired healing.
Common signs:

Tightness after cleansing

Redness or stinging

Flaking or burning
-
Breakouts that worsen with products

Makeup doesn’t sit well
Important note:
This skin state often pretends to be acne, rosacea, or dryness — but the root issue is barrier failure.
Rule:
This skin can never start above Level 1.
2. Dehydrated / Sebum-Dysregulated Skin
Clinical description:
Water deficiency within the skin causes compensatory oil production, congestion, and uneven texture.
Common signs:

Blackheads or congestion

Makeup slides off

Skin feels “never balanced”
Critical insight:
This is not true oily skin — it is hydration failure.
Rule:
Oil control comes after hydration is restored.
3. Inflammatory Acne-Prone Skin
Clinical description:
Chronic inflammation combined with disrupted keratinisation and microbial imbalance.
Common signs:

Skin reacts badly to harsh treatments
Key distinction:

Melanin overactivity caused by inflammation, UV exposure, hormones, or previous skin trauma.
Common signs:

This skin must never be rushed into strong actives.
Rule:

5. Chronically Depleted / Aging Skin
Clinical description:
Reduced cellular turnover, collagen degradation, and impaired lipid production.
Common signs:

This skin often still has barrier weakness underneath.
Rule:
